Tokyo is the Greatest City in the World

All the other cities where Time Out is localised are going to be a bit miffed, aren't they?

Eh? I thought that had been around for years. But I guess they were just running a web site, without a paper version until now.

Distribution points

Airports:
Narita International Airport
Haneda Airport

Tourist information centres:
Shibuya Station Tourist Information Desk
Tokyo Tourist Information Centre at Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building

Train stations:
Tochomae Station, Shinjuku Station, Asakusa Station, Ginza Station, Roppongi Station etc.

Hotels:
Conrad Tokyo
Mandarin Oriental Tokyo
The Peninsula Tokyo
The Ritz-Carlton Tokyo
etc.

Shops:
Tsutaya Daikanyama T-Site
Tokyu Hands Shibuya Kiddy Land Harajuku
Tower Records Shibuya
All HUB locations
etc.

Looks like I will be sticking to the electronic version for now. Why can't they leave a stack at my inflatable love doll supplier in Akihabara?

When you have to scrape together 50 reasons, you reach the bottom of the barrel.

I see the second issue will be available in March! That is a tight deadline, it is almost November already!!!

Just back from Tokyo, and was told that the "Nikkei Weekly" (English version) is no longer available at Metro stations.

It had become a habit of mine to buy it at Otemachi station, but now I have to go without. Anyone know where I can buy it instead?

I know, I know, bit off-topic, but still I did not recover from the shock.

It is no more. And in typical Nikkei fashion, the article to read about the end of it is behind a paywall. And because Nikkei is changing its paywall system you can't even register to see the content if you wanted to. Here links to here.

Wow, it seems they completely stopped, even their electronic version. Pity.

According to this link they will launch the "Nikkei Asian Review" as a replacement around the same time, in paper and electronic version. I didn't see it in the news stands, though.

Not ready yet http://asianreview.nikkei.com/

Samples aren't very classy, with columns of white space at the end of articles.

I would have thought you would have gone for the JT on Sunday..... (I am aware that is a different focus)

JT on Sunday does not really offer much I guess, as compared to what is available on the Internet for free. Never bought it, so I don't really know.

Thanks for the link to the sample issue of the Nikkei Asian Review. I am sure I will buy it once available (and I can find it).

What makes you think I am not interested in business? Not a businessman, but I like to read about developments in the corporate world (and science, which was also covered sometimes in the Nikkei Weekly).

Russell, it is clear that you have wide interests and there is no feeling on my part that you would be ignoring news of the business world. It was only that you quite like the JT for its editorial courage and I thought a weekly offering might have interested you if your choice of Nikkei Weekly was not available.

Plus a little devil inside me thinks that JT on Sunday will be a good trainwreck, and Coligny has pointed out that attraction.

You remember well that I like the courage of JT to place controversial articles. I suspect, though, that those articles don't make it to the Sunday version.
