Japanese Law & Order: Special Victims Unit

Postby Mike Oxlong » Mon Dec 16, 2013 9:27 am

Tokyo police form first ever stalker investigative squad
Following a number of high-profile cases this year in which stalkers killed their former girlfriends, the Tokyo metropolitan police department has formed its first ever specialized stalker investigative squad.

The squad will have 80 specialists, Fuji TV reported.

In cases where an individual contacts police to report a stalker-related crime, the newly formed team will handle everything from danger assessment, warning the stalkers and arresting them if they do not comply, as well as helping victims relocate, if they so request, and taking protective measures.

Kinda curious what qualifies one as a "specialist" in the field of stalking. Is this an elective course you can take while getting your degree in criminal justice? Or maybe its kinda like how the NSA recruited the better black hatters to work for them. It would be interesting have a known convicted serial stalker as the instructor at the J-police academy. Hmm the possibilities.

Yeah, but there have been several FG victims. If the victim can't communicate effectively to the stalker patrol, shit is gonna be missed.

(Realistically, they will probably employ the same shitty baba's that "do za engrish aza hoe-bee" like you and I have encountered here before.)

I guess it will be a steep learning curve

Don't underestimate the J-pol, when they decide to act they can be pretty thorough. They came down heavy on drunk driving a few years ago and brought down the accident rate. And when they finally decided to act on Aum Shinrikyo they took them out in about 3 days.

However I think they may need around 800 officers.

Shouldn't the onus be primarily on the non-speaker of Japanese? I heartily agree it would be good if the PoPo men had somebody capable, and it would avoid those loveably killable Cockusai Koryu Oba-hans, but I would be neither outraged nor even surprised to find out that a young Japanese woman studying English at Missasauga Community College and having Kreepy Cdn Guy problems was unable to find a policeman that spoke Japanese.

And just to clarify, would that she did, and death to all stalkers and creepy men.

Just saying they would be more effective in cases involving FG...cause we all know all the crime in Japan is commited by FG.

Meanwhile I wonder what mascot kyarakuta this new unit will have. A cute anime-esque character with its arms and legs sticking out of a sand-filled bath?

Another season to add to the uniquely fours seasons, plus moonsoon season, typhoon season...? :???:

Stabby season:

High school girl stabbed to death; 35-year-old man turns himself in
Police said Thursday that a 35-year-old man turned himself in at a koban after he allegedly stabbed to death his 17-year-old ex-girlfriend in Hachioji on Wednesday.

According to police, Haruka Sakurai, a Sagamihara City high school student, was found dead at the entrance to the home where she lived with the suspect at one time, at around 10:40 p.m. Wednesday. Fuji TV quoted police as saying that she had been stabbed numerous times in the chest and back.

A man, who identified himself as Yoshio Nakata and said he was the victim’s boyfriend, turned himself in at a koban in Hiratsuka, Kanagawa Prefecture, at around 3 a.m. Thursday and confessed to the crime, police said.

The girl’s body was found when an acquaintance of Nakata visited the house and noticed blood seeping out from under the front door, and then contacted police.

Police said a blood-stained knife was found in the kitchen, Fuji reported.

Nakata was estranged from his wife and son, police said.

Woman stabbed by stalker despite consulting police 5 times
A 52-year-old woman sustained severe injuries after being stabbed in the stomach on a side street in Tokyo’s Adachi Ward on Wednesday night. The woman identified the assailant as her ex-boyfriend, Satori Ishizaki, 49, police said.

The woman is in a stable condition in hospital. Fuji TV reported Friday that police have charged Ishizaki with attempted murder.

Police said that the woman had consulted police five times since last July, complaining that Ishizaki was stalking her. She initially came to the police after receiving a message from Ishizaki saying, “I’m going to kill you.” In December, Ishizaki, confronted her on the street and threatened her with a knife, demanding they get back together.

Following the incident, the woman was told by police that they would handle the case. However, she demanded that an official warning be given to Ishizaki.

Police then confronted Ishizaki and ordered him to write a statement promising that he would leave the woman alone forever.

I thought stabby season was in the summer, tempers frayed and all that.

Think the cops need to employ some criminal psychologists to weed out the trolls/sadists from the psychos.

On the streets of Shibuya stabbing leaves one person dead and another seriously injured---a homeless man was seen fleeing the scene.
