Crimea river of sanctions

Postby Samurai_Jerk » Wed Aug 06, 2014 11:33 am

It looks like Japan decided to join in on the fun!

Japan unveiled Tuesday details of financial sanctions against 40 individuals and two groups involved in the annexation of Crimea and destabilisation of eastern Ukraine.

The decision freezes assets of those on the list, as Tokyo joins the West in pressing Moscow to exercise its influence over pro-Russian separatists in Ukraine to achieve a peaceful resolution in the crisis.

Not the end of the world.... AMS-TYO would be just under 2000km longer if you fly the shortest alternative via Bucharest and Baku and 3000km if you use the cold war route via Alaska, only this time non-stop via Nome.

A small price to pay for the Russian hordes who wouldn't be ruining the slopes and beaches of Europe anymore...

Plus, all airlines with stops in Russia for passengers or fuel would not be affected and seems the Reds would have much more to lose if they were banned over Yurop...

Source bloomburg...

Btw, 2000/3000km more means between 2h30 to 4h more... Not exactly big fun... Or cheap in fuel...
