Japan has produced a novel twist on the traditional flypast – a ‘squadron’ of plane-shaped scooters whizzing around in formation.
The country’s air force put on the display on Wednesday (September 24) to celebrate its 60th birthday.
The riders – air force support staff that never normally leave the ground for their work – wore flying goggles and helmets as bemused guests looked on.
