How many people here know that Jimmy Carter wasn't always a beacon of democracy and human rights?

How could the peach boy have been a communist? I just don't buy into that, with his sweet southern disposition, Georgian charm, and that gentlemanly smile! :D

By 'peach boy', I presume you mean Carter. What makes you think I said he was a communist?

I meant communist in a figurative manner.. to say the opposite of democractic would be, at least in my mind, communist. I didn't mean that indeed he is a communist. Perhaps I should have said un-democratic... or something of that nature. Sorry for the misdirectional usage of my vocabularic expression.

You mean the only un-democratic regimes are communist ones?

No, unfortunately, again you misinterpret, or rather you interject your opinion on what I wrote.

I meant it is one of the un-democratic regimes, but in my mind it is the most common and well-known, not saying that it is or isn't, just in my mind it is. Hope that clears it up for you.

Well, that certainly clears it up, even if I am astounded that you should think so. How about Nazism, Fascism? The ones I was refering to, regarding Carter, were Latin American dictatorships. The particular case is El Salavador, and the murder of Archbishop Oscar Romero. He had written to Carter opposing US aid to the Salvadoran Junta. Carter's response was to ask the pope to keep Romero quiet. Now, Asskissinger claims everyone knew what Chomsky and Herman wrote in their book. I'm not sure many people knew this story.

I believe you're confusing cstaylor with Caustic Saint. One is a character from the Simpsons and the other is a manga kid drinking a genki drink, from what I can tell.

But you're still free to confuse them 'if you like'.
