That's why we have a moat of gasoline around our apaato, with motion-sensor-activated gas jets next to the window locks.

No recent break-ins, but apparently there's been an increase in crispy patients at the local hospital. :tounge:

Haven't seen the cable guy for a while either ...

Blowtorch Burglar Caught

Postby kurohinge1 » Wed Jan 21, 2004 11:38 am

From MDN:

A Chinese man who repeatedly robbed houses of cash after torching windows with a gas burner has been arrested, police said.

Chen Jian Sheng, already under indictment for theft, and some 10 other Chinese people are accused of robbing 500 houses of 120 million yen, mostly using the method of burning windowpanes ...

Police suspect Chen, 28, from Warabi, Saitama Prefecture, and his accomplices hired two Japanese drivers for the robberies in Tokyo, Kanagawa, Chiba and Saitama prefectures from December 2001 to May 2003.

Officers said there has been an increase in the number of house robberies where windows were burned. (Mainichi Shimbun, Japan, Jan. 20, 2004)
