Too bad there's just a few historical truths missing from the article. Talking about the 'Japanese ruling class' at that time is like saying the people of contemporary Turkey are 'Trojans' as part of what we now know as Turkey was probably the site of Troy in ancient times. There was no Japanese ruling class then - just a ruling class from one of the dominating ethnic groups of the time.

Hmm, and just where did the Yayoi and Jomon come from? Originally from what we know as modern day China and other areas around what we now know as Japan. It sucks for the Japanese that their DNA would also offer them undeniable proof that they are related to Malays, Koreans, Mongolians, and Polynesians - and in fact ARE those people as well as being of Han Chinese origin.

All the regional dialects, some of em absolutely impossible for your average big city Japanese to understand, also point to the fact that the so called Japanese are this ethnic grab-bag. Dude I work with in Saitama and the shop below were renegotiation their lease with the landlord (who lives next door and shares the parking garage with these automotive shops) The jiji landlord, spurred on by his nutjob daughter, is claiming they just need to ganbare more because they can't afford to lower the rent at all...then he had a list of shitty jiji complaints about how late they were allowed to be at the premises (yes, the ones they are paying to rent) and included "you have a gaijin working here! We worry about what kind of business you're doing here!" I've only seen her a few times but have always made a point of saying smiling and giving her a polite「 おはようございます！」 "We're an international trading business, so of course we need English speaking staff" got something along the lines of "you can't find a Japanese to do the eigo for you?" I don't even want to it anymore, just laugh and proclaim "Japan has such a bright future."

If you've ever lived in the sticks at some stage in Japan, all the non existent lighting on streets at night is itself a pointer to the certain future.

In my last bumfuck Jp place, the locals brightly told me that there were just about no street lights in many areas and we aint talking about rice paddies here, because 'no money'. Great - so living and walking in darkness at night because there aren't enough people to pay taxes or enough working people to pay taxes is 'normal'. No problems here! And I hear that Japan's future is bright because the young people of working age will return back to their hometowns to support them. Yeah, I can really see that.
Especially when there is jackshit in the way of job opportunities etc apart from taking over some old rice farmer's biz.

The shuttered shotengai in Tottori are a good example of Japan's future coming soon. Some J and gaijin dreamers say how many industries will be created by caring for old people. Yeah, gotcha. Many Japanese people seem to have no money to put their grandparents or parents in nursing or aged care facilities for a start and you are starting to read about all the tension and assaults etc happening because of this.

When there are these facilities available and the J people have the money for them, there is a shortage of good Jp staff to work there. Whatever fucking happened to all the Asians that were supposed to come and look after the growing old people population here? Oh that's right - Japan can't gaman having gaijin including Asian gaijin around in any real numbers. Nice foot shooting going on among the 'exceptional' Japanese.

An ageing population doesn't pay much tax when it pays tax. But the 'nursing care fee' slapped onto gaijin's kokumin kenko hoken and Jp equivalent when the payer is over 40 shows just how much potential there is for hiked fees and charges. Less money in pockets and more going to take care of a big population of older people will hit the economy.

Japanese pensions are really crummy compared to countries like Oz. You get more money per month never having paid one cent in Oz on the govt public pension than Japanese people do on the national pension despite having paid in big amounts of money over their lifetime. While the fairness of freeloaders in Oz getting paid a pension for precisely never having contributed anything is obviously debatable and people shouldn't benefit for free while working people pay for it all, sometimes on small incomes, the Japanes pension system is completely fucked.

As for the plans to make couples have children by providing more childcare - you're having a laugh, Japan. Apart from the few wealthy daycare and childcare centres in Tokyo, most of em are a fucking disgrace. It's like they are doing their best to compete in 2nd/3rd world countries for the most useless and dangerous care of children. I see the little brats walking along streets with no footpaths everyday and being taken for 'walks' in shotengai. And this is Tokyo. Screaming babies as well as whingeing pants shitters who can walk or are taken for rides in filthy carriages.

Honestly, you couldn't make it up. Japan is fucked now and fucked in the near future. Some Jp don't deserve it but others do as they robotically repeat all the lies they've been fed since they were the age of the whingeing pants shitters I see walking in shotengai with the Jp supposedly employed to take care of them.
