Image Crime rate in Japan down for 1st time in 8 yrsKyodo / Tuesday January 20, 5:15 AM
The crime rate in Japan in 2003 was down for the first time in eight years, with criminal cases falling 2.2% from a record 2,853,739 the year before, the National Police Agency (NPA) said... The drop in the overall number of cases was attributed to fewer street crimes...
As for serious crime, murders jumped 4% to 1,452 cases. Robberies at banks or on the street increased by 9.7% to 7,664 and arsons were up 13.1% to 2,070. Robberies of houses or shops were up 27.6%.

Well, it's only 5 days, but I'll see what I can do to help out the cause.

CS, just steal a few streets and things should be back to normal.

Great idea! Unfortunately, it's too great an idea. Somebody beat me to it. Shibuya, Ebisu, Akihabara - everywhere I've been somebody's already stolen tham all!

I shall not be deterred though. I'll find one out there somewhere today or tomorrow. :D

I've failed!

Postby Caustic Saint » Mon Jan 26, 2004 8:18 am

Well, in terms of raising the crime rate, my trip was unsuccessful. All I managed to do was jaywalk a few times, and nobody seemed to care.

The only "police action" I got was a stern look from a cop when I took a photo of their Engrish sign:

Guess I'll have to try harder next time. :D

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Your trip to Haneda Airport was very successful crimewise: as I dropped you off I was busted speeding doing 50km/h in a 30km/h zone. Ohhhh, that cost 10,000+yen. But no "points" deducted because I was driving on a renewal temp license which, "is not in the computer system'", hee, hee.

Oops! 8O

Oh, and the reason we couldn't find the International Terminal is beause there was no sign for it. I guess somebody stole it! After the second pass of the "carbon fiber bridge" we should've turned left at the intersection that looked like it led to a construction area. That's the route the airport shuttle took.
