Yeah, I read this yesterday in the print edition while eating a late brunch. I started to lose my appetite half way through. The story is really sad and it occurs on a larger scale than I realized.

Yeah, I haven't learned the Japanese for NRL (Non Return Lunch... usually Friday with the rest of the staff over beers).

When I worked at Tandem Computers, it was part of the company culture: once a month with just your group members, once a month with the rest of the company (beer bash). When Compaq acquired Tandem, they threw that policy out immediately (bastards).
