S. Korea paper's Japan bureau chief to run in upper house poll

A 45-year-old man who heads the Japan bureau of the South Korean daily Chosun Ilbo said Monday he will run in the House of Councillors election in July as a candidate from the main opposition Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ).
Shinkun Haku is an ethnic Korean who was born and grew up in Japan, and naturalized as a Japanese citizen in January last year. He went by the Korean name Baek Jin Hoon before being naturalized.
