The koran says:
It's okay to lie to an unbeliever
It's okay to torture an unbeliever
It's okay to kill an unbeliever
Blacks are (add any negative you want)
It's okay to abuse a woman

So what was ironic about my comment? It's based on knowledge of islamic fundamental ideas.

Don't go saying bad shit about those nice people, they might burn down your embassy and might order you a fatwa with french-fries and a little extra spicy jihad. It's also fucking sick how the USA was scared shitless to print some silly cartoons, so much for the refugees that fled these middle east shitholes to live in the 'land of freedom' yet because some ayatollah-fuck starts burning American flags we now refuse to print cartoons.

It really was disgraceful how the State Dept issued mealy-mouthed condemnations of the cartoons and the American mass media refused to show them, leading people to believe that the cartoons were much more inflammatory than they really were, and that there was any kind of legitimate basis for the hysterical reaction of the islamofascists, who, incidently are attacking the teaching the teaching of the works of Voltaire and Dante in European schools because they are said to have "defamed" the prophet. And as for what happens to artists who "defame" islam today, you could ask Theo van Gogh, but he was stabbed to death.

And now we're spending all this blood and treasure to install governments in Afganistan and Iraq that want to implement sharia law, where people who "insult" islam or want to leave islam are punished with death. If we're serious about promoting democracy, we should be demanding freedom of expression, freedom of religion, equal rights for women, and all the other essential components of a democracy. And if it's just about the oil, then we should just seize the bleedin' Saudi oilfields and be done with it.

I read this post, and think it really is right, but the fact is, it's already a done deal, and the deal looks like it has turned sour.

US wants out of iraq

An increasingly desperate US is talking to Iran's Shi'ite leadership as Iraq drifts into civil war. At the same time, the American military is alienating Shi'ite sympathizers within Iraq by taking the fight to Muqtada al-Sadr's militia. Iraq's Shi'ite-dominated interim government is...etc.

After three years of 'Sittin' On Another Texas' Bush still can't get the oil out of the hole. I know this not a 'political thread' but when you want to talk about a future F'd Japan, (and this forum is supposed to be about Japan) it almost has to be about energy, which Japan has very little of, and very little real access to, when push comes to shove.

These people know what they are doing, and are doing it, and they are doing it everywhere, despite GW's best efforts.

Who by the way I feel nothing about, negative or positive, just for the sake of conversation.

:(

We're talking about a large number of people who haven't learnt to think, who haven't learnt to reason, and are being threatened by militias, honour, family members, society, to be "good muslims" or else.

Sure, it's easy to hate these people - but you sure as hell aren't going to show them the light by telling them how to think and depriving them of the opportunity to figure it for themselves out like one Afghan guy did recently. You can't fight these people's battles for them. The US fought for it's freedom from opressors.... why not let the Iraqis do the same?

It's ironic how a land of freedom feels it perfectly OK to take away other people's and tell them how to live... so it should come as no surprise that people are actually fighting back.

Back to the "Islam is a fucked up religion" concept. All I have to say about it is that most Muslims are on crack. In order to be a great Muslim you have to use Muhammed as an example for how to live your own life, and do what he did... namely make up your own self-serving religion as you see fit.

RTE: Troussier takes charge of Japanese team
Former Japan coach Philippe Troussier is set become the general manager at Japan Football League side FC Ryuku, the club has announced. Troussier, who had expressed an interest in the vacant Republic of Ireland managerial role, is expected to be unveiled by his new club tomorrow. Earlier this month Troussier had held talks with Australia and was seen as favourite to take charge of the Socceroos before they decided to appoint Pim Verbeek.

I wonder if there are any jobs that would hire me based on my religion of apathy?
Oh, well, who cares?

Agnostics probably have trouble searching for jobs because they never know if they really exist or not.

Sarkozy converting to Islam?
http://www.brusselsjournal.com/node/3591
In his message to the participants, French President Nicolas Sarkozy called Arabic the "language of the future, of science and of modernity," and expressed the hope that "more French people share in the language that expresses great civilizational and spiritual values."

"We must invest in the Arabic language (because) to teach it symbolizes a moment of exchange, of openness and of tolerance, (and it) brings with it one of the oldest and most prestigious civilizations of the world. It is in France that we have the greatest number of persons of Arabic and Muslim origin. Islam is the second religion of France," Sarkozy reminded his listeners.
