As much as Gov Blinky is a horse's ass, I hate to say his "logic" is flawess to Japanese folks. Even the small minority of Japanese who disagree with him NEVER say he's talks in demented nonsequiters and is random in thinking.

Gov Blinky Ishihara is Japan's "Great Communicator", leading populist of the day and a famous author. He's just using Japanese rhetorical patterns which "never fails to entertain and confound" me everyday at work.

Over the years I've heard Gov Blinky describing being strafed by bombers during the Tokyo bombing. He also whines about having his icecream cone knocked down by GIs in the street after the war. These two events he recounts on TV from time to time with a livid red face. You can tell he wants some kind of great revenge.

I used to know who a lady who went to grade school with Ishihara. She told me he might have imagined both events since their school where he claimed to have been strafed was never hit by anthing but was on the low flight path for bombing runs. Likewise, she thinks he may have been laughed at by GIs for being a blinky nervious runt which Ishihara's mind turned into the Great Icecream Cone Incident.
