Wind, rain warning in effect for Kanto on Friday as typhoon nears
Kyodo - Thursday May 20 1:54 PM SGT
The Japan Meteorological Agency on Thursday called for caution in the Kanto region as a typhoon is expected to bring strong winds, heavy rain and high waves from early Friday morning as it approaches the main island of Honshu.
Typhoon Nida, the season's second typhoon, will be the third-earliest on record to approach the main islands of Japan if it does indeed get close to Honshu on Friday. The likelihood of it landing on Honshu has decreased...

I just snuck out into the fresh air to have a filthy dirty cigarette.. outside the building they have placed a 20 foot long and 2 foot high row of sandbags and along one of the glass doors facing the direction of the wind.

So at least in the building manager here are expecting a heap of wind and water.
