The Tokyo Regional Immigration Bureau decided Saturday to conduct intensive follow-up checks on foreign women who come to Japan on entertainment visas as part of efforts to strengthen antihuman-trafficking measures.....

Honestly I think a lot of the women want to be prostitutes. They probably are back home but can't make that much money. Here they can earn a year's wages in a few months. I've heard these women often return after their first time to earn more money.

As long as it isn't forced, I don't see the problem. Having sex willingly versus being forced to perform are two entirely different things.

But this is just silly.. I mean they are trying to save face in front of the world.. Bad news for Japan means a few "high profile" busts and then a hush hush.. 5 or 10 years later it will be back to the same old same old.

The Tokyo Regional Immigration Bureau decided Saturday to conduct intensive follow-up checks on foreign women who come to Japan on entertainment visas as part of efforts to strengthen antihuman-trafficking measures

This will require immigration officials to regularly visit bars and nightclubs throughout Japan in disguise as average 'salarymen'

They will be have eat, drink and fraternize with the hostesses at these bars until late into the night in an effort to obtain further information from them. Some may even have to visit the girls at their homes for 'on the spot' investigations. A large special fund will have to be allocated for such activities.
