Yomiuri: Renoir work stolen from condominium
A painting by French artist Auguste Renoir valued at about 100 million yen was stolen in spring from a 14th-floor condominium in Osaka, The Yomiuri Shimbun learned Wednesday.
According to the Osaka prefectural police, a security guard found that the lock on a steel door of the condominium had been forced on the afternoon of April 25.
The painting's owner, who is the president of a real estate company, visited the condominium after she had been informed about the lock and discovered that the painting, "Nude in a Landscape" was missing from the living room.
