Jenkins' lawyer leaves Japan

Capt. James Culp, defense lawyer of Sgt. Charles Robert Jenkins, will leave Japan to return to his home base in South Korea, U.S. military officials said Thursday.
Culp is going back to Seoul to handle other matters related to his responsibilities as an independent U.S. military counsel.
Maj. Martha Brooks said Culp's return to his base post had nothing to do with the Jenkins case.....
enkins is accused of four charges -- desertion, solicitation, <<hee, hee>> unlawful separation and aiding the enemy...

His new laywer was FG engrish teacher and seems to be a n00b with "about 10 weeks to learn practical military law." Jenkins might end up being hanged.:twisted:

Capt. Seth Cohen, the man leading the U.S. Army's prosecution of accused deserter Sgt. Charles Robert Jenkins in his court martial starting Wednesday, is fond enough of Japan to have requested his posting here, the Mainichi has learned.
Cohen spent 3 1/2 years teaching conversational English in Japan before going to law school and moving on to become a judge advocate for the U.S. Army....
....After graduation he moved on to the Judge Advocate General's School of the Army for "about 10 weeks" to learn practical military law that students' "apply in the field."....
