...I was arrested in April 2003, when I wrote the following graffiti on outer wall of public restroom at Wakaba Park, a small park in Nishiogi, Suginami-ku:
"Against War (Sensou Hantai), Anti-War (Hansen), Spectacle Society (Supekutakuru Syakai)"
A neighborhood resident called police and I was arrested, impeached, and was on trial on suspicion of property destruction which means less than 5 years imprisonment. I have pled my innocence in court. But February 2004, I was convicted on: "One year and two months imprisonment with probation period of three years." ...

You're right, Mr. Graffiti has some problems with the message. Here's more from his post:

I have the Debord book, by the way, and there is a related book "The Empire of Signs" by Barthes which was inspired by Japan, a land of symbols stripped of their meaning.
