NAMNEWS: Tesco Director joins competitor

Sainsbury's has announced that retail director Adam Fowle is leaving the company and it has hired the chief executive of Tesco Japan, Ken McMeikan, to replace him. Ken has worked for Tesco for the last 14 years. He was recently appointed chief executive for Tesco Japan

Or, as The FT reports

Tesco yesterday lost its second senior manager in less than a month after it emerged that Ken McMeikan, who had just been appointed head of Tesco Japan, had quit to join Sainsbury.

Tesco PLC has announced that it has decided to stop selling all cetacean (whale, dolphin and porpoise) products in its Japanese supermarkets, following a joint campaign by WDCS, the Environmental Investigation Agency (EIA) and Greenpeace.
...According to Tesco they took the decision "due to a lack of customer demand."
