Myanmar Embassy receives bomb scare

They received a bomb, not a bomb scare. A detonator was used and depending on the type can do serious damage to the hand(s) of the person opening the letter.
Detonators are commonly used in letter bombs because they are relatively flat/compact.

The device was evidently rigged to go off when the card was unfolded. If it went off, the detonator was strong enough to hurt the hands of a person who opened the envelope, police added.

So what do they consider a bomb?

No message was contained in the envelope and police have apparently dismissed a political motive for the incident.

Myanmar's military junta has come under international criticism for persecuting activists fighting for political freedom.

The police here are really f*cking brilliant...
