Yomiuri: 60% more rain forecast for west Japan in 2100
The average rainfall in August will be 60 percent greater in 2100 in western Japan if global warming continues, according to a Meteorological Research Institute report released Saturday. If the water temperature continues to increase in the Pacific Ocean, the Pacific high-pressure system will become stronger and bring a lot more vapor to the region between Sanin and Kyushu regions in western Japan, the report said.
