Bloomberg: Mitsubishi Motors Says It Has `No Plans' to Sell U.S. Factory
Mitsubishi Motors Corp., in its third year of falling U.S. sales, denied a report that it is trying to sell its plant in Normal, Illinois and its sales company in the world's largest auto market. Mitsubishi Motors has "no plan to sell our U.S. plant nor U.S. sales operations," company spokeswoman Dotty Diemer said in a statement e-mailed to Bloomberg News. Mitsubishi Motors, Japan's only unprofitable automaker, has been discussing a sale of its North American operations, the Asia Wall Street Journal today. Potential investors include Ripplewood Holdings LLC, the report said, citing people familiar with the matter...Ripplewood didn't show much interest, the newspaper said.
