Maybe a job for Ketou...
...women are more like a good red. They get better with age!
THE family of a 104-year-old Chinese woman refused a visa by the Immigration Department has appealed for compassion from the Government. Cui Yu Hu came to Australia on a 12-month visitor visa in 1995 to see her adopted daughter Motoko Otani. When she went to leave she found no airline would take her because she was too old and frail. Mrs Hu, who received a letter of congratulation from Prime Minister John Howard when she turned 104 earlier this year, stayed in Australia on a bridging visa but has now been refused an aged-parent visa. Family friend Shep Chow today said Mrs Hu had adopted her daughter as a three-year-old orphan in China after the Japanese invasion, and had raised her as her own child. Mr Chow said the family was shocked and upset by the letter refusing her a visa, and by the thought that Mrs Hu could be deported. "The airlines won't take her anyway and she has no one to go back to," he said.
