Proels Poulfen of Denmark was crowned the world's top brewer of espresso coffee at the annual World Barista Championship in the rainy city that spawned America's love affair with deep, dark coffee...The Danish barista beat out second-place winner Hiroyuki Kadowaki of Cafe Rosso in Japan and Sammy Piccolo of Caffe Artigiano from Canada, who placed third.
