Regulators here said they would allow newcomers in the mobile phone market for the first time in 12 years to prompt more competition in the market, which is dominated by three top providers.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications issued a draft regulation that said the government will give priority to new entrants when allocating frequency spectrum for third-generation services (3G) later this year.

So.......Perhaps we will finally get some competition in the cell phone market here! It'd be real nice to reduce that nasty 20,000 phone bill I get every month.

:rofl:Competition for customers through discounts on service charges is already fierce among the existing three providers -- NTT DoCoMo Inc, KDDI Corp and Vodafone KK.
