The Australian Classification Board has begun prohibiting adult films and publications with small-breasted women, on the grounds that may encourage pedophilia. This came shortly after the Board's decision to also prohibit any pornography in which women are depicted as having orgasms, if said orgasm includes any form of ejaculation, describing such orgasms as "abhorrent."

I just saw a so-called "safe-for-work" Japanese website making fun of this policy....

Just another of those things that remind me how much I hate Australian governance....not to mention that abject placidity of the sheeple.
Fucking hickville the whole country.

I went to Australia, right, and I thought Australia was gonna be a groovy, surfnoid, smoke-a-joint wombat, you know? 'G'day mate!' 'No worries!' And it's like Arkansas with a beach. It's a whole country with a 'No Fat Chicks' sticker on it.

Apparently, some way more than others.

Does anyone know why orgasm is a burrowed katakana word in Japanese? Was such a concept really foreign to them in the ancient history?

I guess there is iku but that's more of a verb and it literally means to come..

Greji told me that "iku" meant "I'm outta here, how much do I owe you?"

Yeah, I was actually thinking that Greji would know the answer to the age-old mystery above. He was probably the one that brought that word into the Japanese language.

New age puritanism, I love it. I admit to not really understanding the intricacies of Austrialian politics, but it seems to me that when a governemnt tries to regulate fun a) they have too much time on their hands and b) are soon planning to be out of office.

There's an interesting entry on the origins of "iku" in the Japanese equivalent of the urban dictionary.
It apparently derives from military slang (so it's probably what they said when they were lopping heads of foreign barbarians, which I'll keep in mind next time I am mesmerizing one of the local lasses....) and was popularized by none other than Governor Blinky (who also kindly reminded us of the word sangokujin, infuriating the Japanese because he used a word banned from broadcast and not because of his racism. Sorry, my Deadbeato-like rant for the day).

What, through broken links on Internet pages? :D :D

I thought the comment was hilarious despite my origins. I tried to give you a green snot for it, but have to spread more love around before I can give it to you.
Oz has always had that conservative streak (once these people were referred to as "wowsers" Down Under), but it tends to be less in your face than some other countries (I won't name names, but I think you can guess one in particular that I'm talking about...)

Legislation for the promotion of bigger tits? Why not?

Postby Not Invented Here » Sun Jan 31, 2010 5:34 pm

Well, I'd typically support any kind of government legislation which would encourage larger breasts in any public venue. This sounds a bit schizo to me though.

I'd like to see what kind of advertising the government will do on tv to let people know about this...

"Tits or get the fuck out... it's the law in Australia."

Here in Columbus, there is a three day festival where women can walk around topless if they choose. In fact, it's legal in that area of town all year round, but moreso during the festival.

It's called Comfest and it is REALLY a hippy fest, but it's supposed to be a community festival.

Problem is.....there are some girls who are not legal to fornicate with out there in the crowd going topless.

From what I understand, although it hasn't been settled by the Supreme Court, in the US it's most likely unconstitutional to prohibit women from going topless anywhere that it's ok for a man to go topless...but I'm not sure that's exactly a good thing in a country were the majority of women are grossly obese.

That's OK, because they wouldn't fornicate with you anyway.

But seriously, what's the problem? This is not a sexual situation. It's akin to a nude beach. Why should age be an issue?

One problem is for people taking pictures of the festival. You have to double check your pics before posting them or showing them to people to make sure the topless chick walking past in the background appears to be of legal age. Otherwise you could be hauled up on child-porn charges, even if she wasn't the focus of the shot. Ridiculous, right? But true.

And I tell you this, you can't tell me you'll go to this festival and NOT look at all the mammaries around you. You might focus on a really nice pair, see the face and realize she's only about 13. Makes a bloke feel weird.

I haven't been back since.

Then again, my first time there was last July.:D
