China denies involvement in cyber attack on Mitsubishi Heavy
BEIJING (Kyodo) -- China on Tuesday denied involvement in cyber attacks on Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd., Japan's largest defense contractor.

"Such allegations are groundless," Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei told a news briefing. "The Chinese government has always opposed Internet hacking. Chinese laws prohibit hacking and other cyber crimes."

I though it was a standard fast release from a ramp, where crap can happen and there is nothing to do but watch and cry, not a slow roll on air cushion...

Not a single one of those imbeciles realise that there is something hugely wrong ? that could have been stopped... quite easily... by pulling back the ship...

No one posting on that sad episode of the two year old Chinese girl hit by a truck who doesn't even stop and 18 passerbys that just ignore her?

Sickening to watch this on Youtube.

Google Maps Outs China's Strange Constuction Activities

Postby Samurai_Jerk » Mon Nov 14, 2011 4:50 pm

Why Is China Building These Gigantic Structures In the Middle of the Desert?

This is crazy. New photos have appeared in Google Maps showing unidentified titanic structures in the middle of the Chinese desert. The first one is an intricate network of what appears to be huge metallic stripes. Is this a military experiment?

Or desert reclamation experiment.

Or a new experiment in drying fish and/or veggies.
Never criticize anyone until you've walked several kilometres in their shoes.
Because

1. You're now several kilometres away; and

2. You've got their shoes.

Air France Airbus flew with 30 screws missing after China maintenance visit

An Air France jet flew for five days before ground crews noticed that 30 screws were missing from one of its wings.

The Airbus A340 plane had undergone routine maintenance in China, before flying to Paris and then on to the US before the potentially disastrous blunder was finally spotted.

The plane, which can carry up to 440 passengers, was grounded in Boston while a 'large protective panel' was screwed back into place.

[...]

Air France have blamed aircraft mechanics in the Chinese city of Xiamen, were the airline's jets are often serviced because of lower costs.

[...]

According to an Air France union spokesman: 'Pieces of an aircraft should never simply go missing during maintenance. It is not the first time this has happened either.

'Last year a Boeing 747 was grounded after undergoing maintenance in China because parts of the plane had been painted with flammable paint.'

Administratively.. yes, that's really some sub par work.

Technically... pretty sure the bird could fly 10 years like that without problem...

Well, that may be true, or maybe not. Fact is, if this protective panel would have come off in flight, it might have seriously damaged the aircraft. I hope Air France has a little more responsible attitude than regarding it as "just an administrative problem".

In the end, it is like:
 • We Chinese, fucked up
 • We French, ignored the problem
 • We Americans, fixed it!

There is always a reason why there are slots for screws on an airframe; because that's needed.

You clearly never heard of speed tape...

but they don't say if it's screws or dzeus fasteners, where the panel was, if the screws were on leading or trailing edge... a typical ford versus holden debate....

The way those Airbuses keep falling out of the sky, I think I'd rather have all the screws in place if it's all the same.
