When Japan approaches 1/1000th of the total killed at the WTC, they can start using the word 'terrorist', but until then, they really have no right to use this word. Only someone affected by a true terorrist act which has hurt, maimed, and/or killed people committed in order to instil fear into a nation, people, or community has any idea of what the word means. Japanese know what domestic terorrism is (Aum, J Red Army), but they currently chose to ignore it favor of foreign-born terror (spray painting trains does not count).

Not sure why I'm going on about this....watching Die Hard 3, just to hear how much they make Samuel L. Jackson sound like a dweeb.... in this case, dubbing sucks.

I'm watching it, too. They really pick the wrong voices for some people. The guy that does Dirty Harry is awful, too.

Japanese terrorists have killed non-Japanese overseas but no foreign terrorists have killed any Chrysanthemums in Japan. Remember that, ye Chrysanthemums.

It is a public secret that Aum Shinrikyo was a radical section of Unification Church, North Korean cult. Sarin gas attack on the Tokyo subway was nothing but an organized terrorism by Aum as a agent of North Korea.
And since defeat in WW2, Japanese authorities passing thorough the line have been erased by Yakuza who accepted request by Uncle Sam.
Terrorisms by gaijins in Japan mostly are invisible.

Ok.. ok... let's get to the point...

But your suggestion that they should be sunk is a terrorist response.

My point is all about the Sea Shepherd... Skinking the ship is not a terrorist thought. It's taking away their ability to attack. They use their ship as a weapon. Destroy that weapon and they have no change of using it again.

Your point seems to be that you don't like the whalers becasue they lie. So what? They do lie about whaling, but at lease they still comply with the law. Nothing really wrong about that. They are not harming anyone with a lie other than your feelings.

It sounds like we agree with most things other than that. So, we buy eachother a drink and call it a night. No hard feelings.

The important thing to remember....

Postby Boomer » Mon Dec 22, 2008 8:06 am

Not to sound like a dweeb myself, but I think that the important thing to remember is that there is a HUGE amount of research by reputable university and marine research groups that indicates that cetaceans are sentient. In fact, there is a considerable amount of research that indicates that these creatures are actually smarter than humans. Trust me, if cows became self-aware tomorrow, that would be the end (waaaaah!) of my burger days.

If I read the article right, it would seem to indicate the whales have moved on to south of Kiwiland, hence the J-whalers have departed. But, Sea Slep likes its publicity....

Anti-whaling ship raided
The Age -February 22, 2009
AUSTRALIAN Federal Police have raided anti-whaling flagship the Steve Irwin, seizing records and videos that could help Japan to prosecute the activist Sea Shepherd group.
An armed squad seized 157 of Discovery Channel's raw videos, and navigational records from the ship in Hobart. The videos show the Sea Shepherd's clashes with Japanese whalers and may be given to the Japanese Government. A federal agent said yesterday's raid resulted from a formal referral from Japanese authorities and that police were undertaking preliminary inquiries into this summer's Southern Ocean confrontation.
Never underestimate the power of very stupid people in large groups.

Now, that accusation is a case of the nose shit laughing at the eye shit, as the Japanese would say.
I'd like to see the Japanese whalers given reign to carry out some scientific research on Watson and his bunch of sheep-shagging tree huggers.

A Whale of a Controversy

Postby Doctor Stop » Wed Aug 05, 2009 4:10 pm

Japan's dolphin-hunting industry gets skewered in The Cove, a just-released documentary by director Louie Psihoyos. But after this year's setbacks at the International Whaling Commission's annual meeting, dolphins aren't the only marine mammals that are in trouble...

It's the same lady who warns you about foul balls at baseball games (right AFTER every foul ball)

But that other video where they actually ram the Japanese ship. Those fuckers need to spend the rest of their lives in prison.

Sea Shepherd, the most committed direct action marine conservation organization in the world, has been awarded 4-stars by Charity Navigator, a leading charity evaluator based in the United States. Less than one quarter of the charities evaluated by Charity Navigator have received 4-stars, their highest rating. Sea Shepherd's rating clearly indicates that it has outperformed most other charities in the United States and that it is amongst the best when it comes to responsible fiscal management.

"We are proud to announce Sea Shepherd Conservation Society has earned our 4-star rating for its ability to efficiently manage and grow its finances. This exceptional designation from Charity Navigator differentiates Sea Shepherd from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust," said Ken Berger, President and Chief Executive Officer of Charity Navigator.

As the nonprofit sector continues to grow at an unprecedented pace, savvy donors are demanding more accountability, transparency, and quantifiable results from the charities they choose to support with their hard-earned dollars. In this competitive philanthropic marketplace, Charity Navigator highlights the fine work of efficient charities such as Sea Shepherd and provides donors with essential information needed to give them greater confidence in the charitable choices they make...

Star Wars meets the whalers
Image
Image
The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society held a fundraiser in Los Angeles on Saturday and unveiled the Ady Gil: a sleek and speedy trimaran that is expected to bolster the group's effort against Japanese whalers in the Southern Ocean below Australia.

Formerly named Earthrace, the vessel is powered by biodiesel and can reach speeds of 50 knots and deflect harpoons. It was renamed to reflect its benefactor, Ady Gil, who helped acquire the futuristic-looking boat.

Sea Shepherd will launch its sixth campaign against the Japanese whalers in December from Australia, using the flagship Steve Irwin and the Ady Gil to disrupt efforts by whalers to kill and process minke and fin whales.

It would be interesting to see the expressions on the faces of the whalers when they first glimpse the Ady Gil.

Japan hunts the whales annually in the Antarctic region using a research loophole in the wording of an international moratorium on whaling.

More pics here

According to Wikipedia it has a range of about 3,000 nautical miles. The Steve Irwin, Sea Shepherd's main vessel has a supposed range of around 10,000 nm.
