It's also in every grocery shop in Saigon, but both a bit far for late evening shopping...
There is another brand really not as good that can be found everywhere here... but the old el paso is much more difficult to find...

Oh come on man, if you want American mom taco meat at least do it right.. Brown some hamburger with onions and/or jalapenos (serranos if you can get them) optional. 30 seconds before you add liquid, add powdered garlic (if it's fresh saute that in with the onions), cumin, chili powder, and salt. Pour beer over it all and reduce. Old El Paso sheesh...

And Gruyere is way over the top for tacos imo (though it might be interesting I admit.) Mozzarella is the closest to authentic Mexican you can get here I think, and cheddar for tex-mex.

He's making French-Tex ;)

If you're going to use powder, the Lawry's brand stuff is much better...if you can find it. If I have time though, Costco sells corn tortillas and all the fresh stuff to make some authentic tacos from scratch. (only to add american goodies like cheese, guacamole and sour cream to them before they meet their end)

My point was that you live in a shithole. Anyway, as nikoneko pointed out making your own taco seasoning ain't tough. And yeah, gruyere on Mexican is all kinds of wrong.

All this talk is making me hungry for Mexican. I make some pretty damn good carnitas. My gringo guac is pretty good too. By the way, has anyone ever seen a Serrano chili for sale in Japan? I've found fresh and pickled jalapenos, fresh habaneros and canned chipotle but I've never seen a Serrano anywhere.

Nope on the serranos. I grab as many cans of them and tomatillos (also impossible here*) as I can carry when I travel back. When those run out I have my mom send more. Carnitas, yummy! Takes forever but so worth it. I'm gonna be making chile verde here soon, can't wait.

* though you can get the green taco sauce which is mostly tomatillos and fine as a substitue.

Talk? The days when all you see is figureless lemurs with no ass/chest are what do it for me...
