Wrong, check back her quote:

GomiGirl wrote:I used to watch loads of TV but with work and a toddler there just aren't enough hours in the day.

She didn't say "movies" she said TV... in japan... thus japanese TV...

How can that be any good ?

Sidenote, I'm just watching the Blue Ray 1080p version of Hellraiser II, Hellbound (1988)... and it seems to be a direct VHS, or LD at best, to blueray copy... I can't find the right words to describe how truly bad this is... The mate paintings that were already punching you in the face from the VHS are now the equivalent of a nukular explosion in your bowels (food poisonning style)

Cable TV and downloaded/streamed TV from OS.

I wish I could stand to watch J-TV then perhaps my Japanese would improve.

You forgot the overuse of picture-in-picture for pointless reaction shots.

There are good television programs on Japanese TV. You just have to know where to look.

It's to show the J-viewers that it's ok to laugh/cry/cringe.....the lack of said box would make TV too confusing for em.

Oh - housing renovations show. Now that is something that I could watch and enjoy. Thanks.

Did I read that right - every Sunday night at 7:58pm... what sort of time is that to start a show?

I tried watching firefly... I had to fast forward though the 1st episode... Is it always that cowboyz and spaceship crap ? To be honest I nearly cut at the first battle scene... It was such a nonsensical baremetal storytelling to force the characters background through our throat that the only thing missing was subliminal message "WILL YOU GIVE A FUCK FOR GOD'S SAKE ?"

Fringe took a long time to find it's road, but it's there. Season 5 has been really good I think, and it looks like the way they're finishing this season (w/ a 4-episode arc) is pretty cool.

Really? It has it's cheese but it's definitely one of the more loveable series I've watched.

Fringe started out really strong, went all over the place, and then now, as you say, it seems to have finally settled down...enjoying this season for sure!

The whole far west thing is a total turnoff...

If there was Musketeers and jewels stolen from the Queen in luxury castles by plotting cardinals... YES !!!

But inbred rednecks riding horses in the dust...

nope... nopity no...

OK - don't laugh but I was watching "Terra Nova" on cable recently. Kinda like watching a train wreck. It had so much promise but delivered it so badly.

Plus I was watching it as it was filmed near where I grew up.

Coming from a lineage most well known for murdering and pillaging said rednecks, I enjoyed the western-type theme to it. Cheese yes, over the top, no.

I had low expectations going in and the CGI was still pretty disappointing...but it was still enjoyable enough to have on while working ;)

A clear explanation

No one will force you to eat the red skittle, but you might want to give it another try.

While I would totally understand this process for rationnal things... (like for example trying to drive me away from my desire to burn every toyotas with their drivers locked inside).

When talking aboot entertainment... there is a GIGANTIC "FUCK IT, I DONT LIKE . / "

I watched "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" last weekend and the first 30 mins of the "Terra Nova" pilot was on the DVD. I wasn't tempted to watch more and now that I know it hasn't been renewed for a second season I really have no reason to watch it.

awww dear... My usual monkey-phobia already push me away from the Planet of apes serie (not enough it seems since I once called a pediatric Dr Zaius out of frustration... which put me in the middle of quite a shitstorm at home since i discovered at that time he's a tennis partner of me julie)
RotPotA is something you'd think to be a straight to DVD from Asylum production... I haven't seen CGI so bad in a mainstream movie since... WAY BEFORE Impedance Day... (ok, except the AirForceOne in front of the hangar scene that was totally out of whack). (I really miss the days of stop motion animation and model spaceships... Just think what Airwolf would have been without the real chopper... in fact... no... don't think... just watch the 4th season and cry)

What Choukonen says. It takes them a while to figure out what the mythology is going to be about.... goes a few routes and then settles in. And yeah, the science is really far-fetched, but the writing is pretty interesting. I also think the doctor is a good actor. He has some great lines throughout the show.

and now that I know it hasn't been renewed for a second season I really have no reason to watch it.

I watched the pilot. It sucked. Man... that was a shit load of money down the tubes.
