IPU, my spidey sense tells me that Brown Cow has had a pretty good handle on what it takes to be a member here since, oooh, about 12:40 a.m. on 15 August last year.

Crikey, did he ever. That was like at the end of the Star Trek episode The Changeling, when Kirk crashes the death bot and they have to run for the transporter to get rid of it before it blows.

Relax, it's a wind-up. Apologies to the 'pot regulars I tried unsuccessfully to PM, but the admins weren't joking when they said the forum was farked.

And Brown Cow still owes me a beer.

A pretty compact and classy way of describing the aggressive undertones of gaijinpot. It was such that it could be difficult to find community there, in between all the pissing contests and prima donna behaviour. But I should hush now... I see that we have an unusually large number of guests recently, for some reason...

Excellent! And yes, he certainly does.

Can I make a request to new FG'ers who were exGP'ers?

FG is also a long running community with it's own ecosphere, unwritten rules and politics so rather than just picking up where you left off from GP, hang out for a while and join the FG community in the same spirit as you find here. Mostly we are a friendly bunch but like most communities, we like things the way they are.

Very well said GG. While I don't post as much as some I've been reading this site for close to 12 years or something. I like it just fine how it is. Also hope this doesn't put too much strain on you mods I know how much of a pain that can be.

Roger and wilco guys and dolls. That is why I floated the original question. I am going to copy and paste GoGi's quote from above, and with the usual geekushakoo, I am quite sure the sorts I invite will have already assumed that bit.

All but that Brown Cow cunt, natch.

Nice use of ecosphere, btw. Very Interweb Groovy.

Says the guy that introduced our world to the We Hate Gaijinpot, Let's build entire sites based on hating Gaijinpot. Not to mention birthing Stu Walden and his 3 Ring Flee Circus.

I call your Trojan Horse and raise you a you are an occasionally amusing flash in the pan POS with no spine and less balls.

Check the join dates ya newby.

PS Have I really been a member since my join date claims or is there some weird Ewokpot carryover effect???

Feeling old...................................

Thanks for all the input, btw. I shall spread the word as discussed.

Probably a good idea to add some google ads or something to defray the cost of a massively increased user group, if that's what happens.
I came over here after frustration with GP hiding its forums and discovery that this one existed, but that was in the time when you couldn't join for a while so I was relegated to lurking. Never an active poster on GP either, though. GP is trying to make money on ads as its first priority and abandoned community a long time ago, which is why I stopped going except an occasional trip to the forums. Now, no reason to show up even for that. An institution has ended, RIP gaijinpot.
