No kids = no Japan in 100 years.

Even in one of the most overpopulated countries in the world people say shit like that. It's fucking unbelievable. You're talking about millions and millions of people all suddenly deciding not to have children even though it's never happened ever in the entire history of mankind. What the fuck else are you going to consider as a possibility? Maybe the sun will turn blue. Maybe the salt in the ocean will turn to sugar. Maybe gravity will reverse itself. Maybe ants will develop super intelligence and enslave mankind. Maybe all our fingers will fall of for no reason. Or maybe everyone will just suddenly quit fucking.

Look at basic math...

China: 7 000 000 000 people
1 child policy, Next generation without attrition:
3 500 000 000 people

I think it make really quick a lot of empty space...

Add this to the fact that with them every big flood clear 1 000 000 peeps and the 3 gorges dam shoddily built...

Despite modern comfort, internet porn and shopping TV... Realise that biblical shit can still happen and you might wake up to a different world than the one you left when you went to bed...

Mercury, radiation, all kinds of reasons why the population here may suddenly decrease besides the current voluntary trend...

At the current rate, Japan as we know it will not exist in a century. 50 million old people won't do much good maintaining the population...

If Japan by some miracle did get its pop. down to 50 million it would still be disgustingly overpopulated. The right balance between people and the rest of nature on an island the size of Japan would be around 100,000 or less. It took 200,000 years to reach a billion people and just 200 more hit 7 billion. If you can't see how insane and fucked up that is then you're so stupid that it's not worth even having a discussion with you. That goes for any of you. If you can't see how overpopulated the world is then compared to me you're retarded. Don't even try to educate yourself because you're so stupid it's hopeless.

Don't agree with your numbers but as far as Japan being overpopulated, is there really any argument that it's not? As just about everyone has said though, the cuntry could benefit from some spreading out...the insane concentration in cities like Tokyo is just begging for diseases/natural disasters/etc. to suddenly reduce the population in one swift swoop...and then there's the quality of life....but seems acceptable to them when you grow up expecting so little.

this sums it up.

i really dont see japan trying to make any smart move to use the fuckedshima disaster to benefit... but to them whaling is a benefit... so they might feel like they did a good job on it.

but once all the old fats die out (not our Lord Goat Herder of course) the youth will get a chance to internationalize japan's way of doing things/thinking/etc.

Death to old people movement uprising? Stranger things have happened...

Problem is while the youth of Japan are preferable to their parents, it will take more than one generation to wash the stains of "We Japanese" mentality out of their underwear.

Just go to Hokkaido...

Tell me the place is overpopulated with a straight face... When I was there, the closest McDo was 1h30 away by car... had to survive by licking molds on the trees... (and combini snacks, but even for dealing with the cashier there, you need some bear repellant)

Don't worry Greji, even if you were able to vote, they'd never attack you or your herd. Even the youngin's here can't wrap their head around the concept that citizenship is not dependent on "Japanese DNA." They'd move on, assuming you're harmless to their cause...and leave their lemurs and goats unprotected.

Just want to dispute your math here.. it takes a few generations for this to filter through as there are many more than 2 generations alive at any one time.

The baby boomers are still kicking on strong and they are a HUGE mass of humanity across the globe. Baby Boomer Parents are starting to pop their clogs in larger numbers now but we still have quite a few years left with a top heavy generation.

I might add - thank goodness. Some of my fave people are baby boomers.

I guess I am classed as a Gen X-er and I have only just started to replicate. And after me came the Gen-Y's etc.

People live on well after they have reproduced their single offspring so it will take quite a few generations to see any sort of dramatic decrease in China's population as the one child policies really only started in 1978 when the Gen X'ers like me were already out and about in large numbers and we are the children of the baby boomers.

Now if you want to start thinking about India and their selective male breeding policies your head will explode. There is going to be a HUGE problem of an oversupply of people coupled with the large percentage of them male without the possibility of ever finding a suitable female...

Sky News chief political reporter Kieran Gilbert speaks with Environment Minister Tony Burke. He says a customs vessels won't be sent to monitor the confrontation between the Japanese whaling fleet and the Sea Shepherd, and has rejected claims that Chris Aultman's visa application was initially denied.

Kind of stupid of Japan to officially request protection from Australia at the high seas, because with that they effectively recognize Australia's jurisdiction over the area. Now, if only the Australians used their newly acquired authority to put an end to this thing...

Sea Shepherd lawsuit 'could end whaling'
Japanese whalers are hoping to stop a repeat of last year's high seas showdown with Sea Shepherd.

Greens leader Bob Brown says a Japanese whaling action in the US federal court could backfire and help bring an end to whaling in the Southern Ocean.

Japanese whalers are seeking an injunction against the Sea Shepherd leader Paul Watson in the US federal court in Seattle.

The Institute for Cetacean Research and the owner of two of Japan's whaling ships want an injunction against Mr Watson and Sea Shepherd because the anti-whaling group "puts lives at risk".

Mr Watson says he is not worried about the lawsuit.

"It sounds like a frivolous lawsuit, US courts don't take those very seriously," he said.

But the Greens are taking it seriously. Senator Brown says the US legal action could complement legal action brought by Australia against Japan in the International Court of Justice.

He says the Australian Government should take this opportunity to intervene.

"Japan has gone to an international court - effectively the US - and Australia should use this opportunity to bring forward a case which may have otherwise taken years to have Japan found guilty of its breach of international law by killing the whales in the first place," he said.

"It's a great opportunity here to have the whaling fleet stopped in its tracks through this action (the US case) rebounding on Japan when it goes to the court in Seattle."

Both whalers and Sea Shepherd have begun their journeys to the Southern Ocean...

If it was just that, I'd have no problem with it. I love me some whale bacon....

...but they have plenty of stockpiles of unused, frozen, meat rotting away while they're out hunting for more. It makes no sense to "outsiders" but I'm sure they're saying something like "We Japanese" like our meat fresh. Despite that fun fact, I'm honestly more concerned with the fate of the tuna...
