Apparently, she was engagd...found out he's married w/ kids, and now he's showing up at her apartment, making threats after she told him she intends to hire an attorney and sue him for kekkon-sagi. Apparently, wifey doesn't know about the affair and he wants to keep it that way.

Before she ends up as the next murdered and unwilling mistress on the news, I pushed her to get her ass down to the police station and report the threats/stalking. The genius made most of the threats via e-mail and LINE and apparently has some sexy fun time video that he's threatening to upload if she pursues kekkon sagi case. (he apparently doesn't know about the revenge porn law?) I figured after the heat the police have gotten in recent years over not following up on this shit in murder cases would at least get them to go talk to the guy....instead, flow chard document the evidence and blew her off saying they can't do anything until he shows up again. From what she said, I wouldn't put it past the guy to try and throw her off a balcony over this. I suggested she report stalking again tomorrow and at least get the lazy fucks with badges to go talk to the guy, let him know they have documented the threats, etc. Hopefully that will discourage any further escalation on his part.

First thing I asked....she said it was more about letting his poor wife know he's cheating but the only way that would happen is with an attorney on his case. (I'm not volunteering to stalk the guy and help her with that) I suggested sicking the police on him for his stalking/threats may have the same effect. Either way, I think it's in her best interest to have the police take the complaint seriously and pay him a visit. Once the secret is out, despite however much rage he has, he's less likely to try to do anything to her as he will know he's being watched and he has a child to think of.

I'm out of date, but I think it's still not standard operating practice for Japanese courts to accept electronic text as reliable evidence (lawyers could always argue that it was easily manipulated; same thing for letters written in pencil or other erasable instruments). Photos/video actually need to show someone in the act of committing a criminal act and a criminal complaint filed to get the cops interested. Unless it's a pureblood Japanese being fucked over by a foreigner.

Which makes it even stupider that she's pursuing this. I don't like the idea of someone being threatened out of a legitimate lawsuit but your friend sounds about as stable as he is. Unless there was some serious financial loss on her part like putting down a huge non refundable deposit on a a wedding hall, she's pursuing a frivolous lawsuit with nothing to be gained but revenge.

I thought people from LA had street smarts: this is the rookie trap of thinking that irrational people act rationally. Just like you don't go near someone on crack, because you don't know what they will do, you can't reason with them and nothing makes sense. What makes you think that she wont be murdered if the wife knows, and that she might if she doesn't. There is zero link or correlation. To be clearer, it's not my interpretation of the station as much as me explaining her reasoning. I've never met the guy, only know what she's saying. Totally sucks for his wife and child. Yes, I already pointed out to her that he could go full psycho on her for revenge. She seems to think it's less likely than him trying to do something to stop her. My advice was to push the police to pay him a visit regarding the threats, even if she had to go to the police station every day for a week or so. She'd rather hire an attorney and poke at him with that.
