N. Korea ridicules Japan over frequent changes in leaders
North Korea on Wednesday ridiculed Japan over its frequent changes of leaders, saying the country has become "the laughing stock of the world."

The North's official Korean Central News Agency criticized some Japanese lawmakers and commentators for speculating a possible collapse of the system in North Korea in the wake of the death of leader Kim Jong Il in December.

"Japan has topped the world list of replacement of prime ministers, becoming the laughing stock of the world and not a day passes without unstable domestic politics," KCNA said in a commentary. "Hence, Japan will never understand the social system in the DPRK, most stable in the world."

The commentary said North Korea's system "has grown more solid than a rock," suggesting the country has undergone a leadership transition from Kim Jong Il to his successor Kim Jong Un in a relatively stable manner.

"It is ridiculous, indeed, for the Japanese authorities to trumpet about 'collapse of system,' availing themselves of this opportunity," it said.

Citing declining public support rates for Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda's Cabinet, KCNA criticized Japan for failing to offer official condolences on Kim Jong Il's death and blocking a visit to Pyongyang by a senior member of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan, or Chongryon, to pay respects.

"The Japanese authorities feared that their flexible attitude towards the great loss the Korean nation suffered might cause the support rate for them to further sink," KCNA said in a separate commentary Tuesday.

"Precisely for this reason the present rulers took a high-handed attitude to meet the interests of the anti-DPRK forces who consider the abduction issue as a lever for keeping themselves alive," it said, stressing the issue of past abductions of Japanese citizens by North Korea "no longer exists."

His dear leader: Meet North Korea's secret weapon - an IT consultant from Spain

Alejandro Cao de Benos – or 'Zo', as his comrades call him - is a devoted follower of the late Kim Jong-il and vigorously defends the North Korean government he represents.

As North Korea convulsed in grief last month with the passing of its Dear Leader, the rest of the world tittered nervously. For Zo Sun-il, a North Korean government spokesman in Europe, this made the bereavement doubly hard to take. While he mourned in isolation, his phone rang hot with calls from international media, who marked Kim Jong-il's demise by gleefully rehashing the more remarkable claims put forward about him in state propaganda: that he was an influential trendsetter in world fashion; that the one time he picked up a golf club, he made 11 holes-in-one. That he didn't need to defecate. More...

A LONELY heart can't get a date — because he looks like late dictator Kim Jong-il. William Cheong says ladies simply see him as the North Korean tyrant — even though he's a West London plumber

Mourning for Kim Jung Il

Postby Russell » Thu Oct 25, 2012 8:55 am

North Korean official is executed by MORTAR SHELL for drinking during 100-day mourning period for late 'Dear Leader' Kim Jong-il

Senior military official broke the rules of mourning Kim Jong-il

During the 100-day mourning period North Koreans were forced to abstain from pleasurable activities - including drinking

A North Korean military officer has been executed with a mortar shell blast for disrespecting late 'Dear Leader' Kim Jong-il by drinking alcohol during the 100-day mourning period.

South Korean media claim Kim Chol, the secretive state’s former vice minister of the army, was forced to stand on a spot that had been targeted with a mortar on the orders of Kim Jong-un.

The North Korean leader, who took over from his father after his death in December last year, demanded Kim Chol was 'obliterated', with 'no trace of him behind, down to his hair' in January.

[...]

And while he was the most senior official reported to have been arrested and executed, the South Korea newspaper reporter that a number of other generals were shot after being found guilty of drinking and being involved in sex scandals.

In total, 14 senior party, government and military officials were said to have been ‘purged’ on the direct orders of Kim’s son and new leader Kim Jong-un.

It was claimed by sources outside the country that the mourning periods had created a ‘vicious atmosphere of fear’ which have spilled over to daily life almost a year after Kim Jong-il’s death.

Executed by mortar shell?

That means they've tied him up somewhere and lobbed some explosive at him to blow him to smithereens?

Fuck...

....still hope I die while on the job....

He was a military man.

The ultimate way to die on the job.

And it's good they spend their scarce resources (i.e. mortar shells) to kill their own.

Kim Jong-il 'Died in Fit of Rage Over Construction Project'
Former North Korean leader Kim Jong-il died in a fit of rage on Dec. 17, 2011 after being briefed about a serious leak at a hydro-electric power plant, a source claims. The plant in Huichon, Jagang Province was built to supply about half of the power needs of the capital Pyongyang.

"After being briefed about the leak, Kim Jong-il lambasted officials and ordered them to repair it," said the source, who asked to remain anonymous. "He rushed to make an on-site inspection of the facility unable to contain his anger and died suddenly."

North Korea announced on Dec. 19 last year that Kim died of a heart attack caused by stress and overwork while on a train on his way to a field inspection...

Actually, that fit of anger was caused by somebody misplacing the inspection "Parka of Kim Jong Il during his field guidance" (NPR News)
