MDN: Foetus in bottle found at Roppongi Hills

Tokyo police have launched an investigation after a fetus was found inside a glass bottle dumped in a trash can at Roppongi Hills. A cleaner found the fetus near an underground entrance of Roppongi Hills, a major commercial complex in Minato-ku, on Friday evening. The fetus, about 17.5 centimeters tall and weighing 150 grams, was about four months old, officers said. The body was floating in water in the 9-centimeter diameter, 13.5 centimeter tall, bottle wrapped in a paper bag. The cleaner hadn't noticed the bottle when he checked the trash about two hours earlier, the officers said.

Yeah, there's been some curiosity about this at my work.. (in Roppongi Hills).. Why would someone dump a fetus at one of the most security camera covered areas in Tokyo? Why was it in a bottle? Etc...

it does make you feel ill doesnt it!. there have been two cases this year in NZ very similar to this. In one case a 8month old fetus(baby!!) was flushed down the toilet and found in the drains by a plumber who was doing routine checks

Maybe it was a specimen from a lab or something.

Baby in bottle haunts dark side of Tokyo
Mainichi Wai Wai (by Marvin)
So was the initial reaction of the 32-year-old cleaner as he picked up a jar from a trash can in a restaurant area of Tokyo's posh Roppongi Hills, according to Asahi Geino (3/10).
Inside the jar was the fully formed fetus of an aborted human baby.

"It was a glass jar filled with a slightly brownish liquid in which the baby's body was floating," a colleague of the cleaner's tells Asahi Geino. "The baby's skin was black and its facial features really stood out, so I thought it must have belonged to a foreigner."

Considering the ghastly find was made in a part of Tokyo famous for attracting non-Japanese, the suggestion would seem to be not entirely out of the question.

The 17.5 centimeter-long fetus weighing 150 grams came from a woman who had been 16 to 18 weeks pregnant. By law, fetuses aborted after the 12th week of pregnancy must be treated as human corpses and disposed of accordingly, so police are looking into the case....the rest...

This is gross

Not even close. Go read the Chimp Attack thread I started in Beyond Fucked.

Anyway, maybe they can use the stem cells for research.

BTW, my high school had a well developed human fetus in a jar. When the teacher brought it out and showed it to the class it was very creepy.

I suggest you never ever go to the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry, they have a whole wall full of them. I won't even get into the "Human Section."
