There is a need to develop a system for conveying information promptly and accurately to foreigners, who often lack information about daily life and government administration. Measures include:
1. Establish liaisons with "ethnic media (note 1)," and convey information concerning the policies of Tokyo Metropolis and other municipalities as well as information tailored to the needs of foreigners through these media outlets in a variety of languages.
(Note 1) "Ethnic media": newspapers, magazines and other types of media targeting resident foreigners or promoting exchange between resident foreigners and Japanese...Foreigners exchange information when they get together at ethnic restaurants, places of worship, or when people of the same nationality assemble. They treat "ethnic media" as an important source of information.
