Korea Herald: First lady undergoes surgery on eyelids
First lady Kwon Yang-suk underwent eyelid surgery to stop her eyelashes from poking her eyes early last month, when President Roh Moo-hyun had a similar operation, a presidential official said yesterday. The presidential office disclosed earlier that Roh was treated Feb. 4 by a Seoul National University Hospital team to remove an obstruction to his eyesight caused by sagging eyelids - known as blepharochalasis - but said nothing about the first lady. "The first lady's eyes were often bloodshot because of her eyelashes. She had surgery as recommended by the medical team," the official said. The operation was successful and Kwon's eyes look natural, he added. The surgery resulted in Roh and Kwon acquiring double-edged eyelids.
The Jujin hospital price list charges from 157,000 for that operation.
