Kinki unemployment rises
Unemployment in the Kinki region in January was 5.4 percent, 0.9 percentage point higher than in the previous month, according to the Internal Affairs and Communications Ministry. The rise--above 5 percent for the first time in three months--is believed to have been partly seasonal, as more people begin job searches at the beginning of the year.
