Elementary school students busted for conterfeiting

From Mainichi Daily news
Elementary school kids busted forging 10,000-yen bills

NAGOYA -- Four elementary school students will be reported to a child consultation center for using a counterfeit 10,000-yen note at a local stationery shop, police said on Saturday.

The four students from the same school in Aichi Prefecture, whose names have not been disclosed because they are minors, forged 10,000-yen notes by using a computer and a scanner in January and February this year.

They later tried to pass off one of the notes at a stationery shop, but an employee who suspected it was a bogus bill alerted police.
