Kyodo via Yahoo: Suntory to sell 'ZEN' green tea liqueur in U.S. market
Suntory International Corp. said Thursday it will market "ZEN," a green tea liqueur specifically tailored for the American market, from next month. Suntory International, a U.S. unit of Suntory Ltd., a major Japanese liquor and beverage maker, said the liqueur uses high-end Uji tea from Kyoto Prefecture and goes well with vodka, tonic water and sake. Zen, a 750-milliliter liqueur bottle, sells for $29.99 and is intended to capitalize on soaring demand for green tea as well as strong interests in Japanese food and culture in the United States, Suntory officials said.
