Competition for jobs and marriage partners has sparked a national height craze in China that has people lining up to be surgically stretched or to purchase torture rack-like stretching machines, according to a Local 6 News report.
A senior executive at one of China's largest job-search Internet sites admits that it's a commonly-held belief that "taller people will have more opportunity for promotion."
In recent months, advertisements on Chinese television are regularly promoting "stretching machines," which look like benches reminiscent of the medieval torture rack.

The Ilizarov procedure is usually used to treat congenital deformities and malunited fractures where bone is lacking, though it can be used to add height (re: Gattaca). Such use in China isn't exactly news, and neither are the procedure's risks.

You're of course welcome to IE... But definitely there is no problem with Firefox. It is default on several hundred PCs that I have oversight authority on and there are no problems except with sites like Dell Japan that are specifically designed (badly) for IE only.

I know it's the big trend to worship Firefox but it fucked up all my bookmarks. When I tried to look at them they would just spin out of control. Plus half the time it wouldn't even connect. I tried it. It sucked. I never had any problem with IE.

I don't follow "trends" or worship any hardware/software. Firefox is great for a few reasons -- mostly the low number of exploits. It's even better if you combine it with Thunderbird.

Firefox may have fucked up importing Bookmarks, but at least it didn't kill all the original Favorites so you couldn't switch back to IE. Give it another shot with 1.0.4, there is a decent chance they have fixed whatever caused your issues.

Personally I've never had big problems with IE either, but I have had to fix tons of problems caused by IE and Outlook Express. I have made a lot of $$$ in consulting fees cleaning up disasters that could have been avoided simply by not using Outlook/Outlook Express and IE.

I agree with lurker. try downloading 1.0.4. Maybe it would work fine for you.
