Nine injured, two seriously, by lightning near Tokyo
Nine people were injured, two seriously, when they were struck Sunday by lightning while swimming in the ocean near Tokyo, a report said.
The victims were swimming when a thunderstorm hit Nakazato beach in Chiba, just east of Tokyo, Kyodo News reported.
Chiba Prefectural Police only confirmed that four people had been injured.
Two men suffered cardiac arrests, while the other injuries were not life threatening, Kyodo said.
