Korea Times: Japan to Buy Korean Karaoke
A South Korean firm will export its Karaoke players to Japan, home of the electronic orchestra, from next month. TJ Media, one of the two major Karaoke system makers in South Korea, said it signed a 100-billion won contract with Japan's Daiichikosho trading company on Friday. It is the first time for a South Korean firm to export Karaoke machines to Japan in a significant volume, the company said..."This is an inspiring achievement in the 15-year history of South Korean Karaoke makers," said Yoon Jae-hwan, CEO of the company...Daiichikosho has more than 60 percent of Karaoke player market in Japan, and posted 1.3 trillion won in sales last year. It also runs the Big Echo karaoke franchise in the country.
