TOKYO, Nov 1 ... Japan, one of the world's most rapidly aging societies, passed a law on Tuesday to prevent abuse of the elderly, one of the first steps taken by the government to tackle what experts say is a growing problem.
Elder abuse is hardly unique to Japan, but the first public revelations last year of its existence were deeply disturbing to a society long so respectful of its senior citizens that there is even a national holiday in their honour.

You will no longer be allowed to perpetrate the following on your elders: Wedgies, atomic wedgies, wet willies, "Indian" burns, ankle taps, nipple cripples, purple nurples and royal flushes. Other (unlisted) acts of roguery are still permitted.
