A fire broke out around 6:15 am Tuesday morning at the site of construction work on the new Toei subway line. This Asahi photo is of Meiji Dori in Okubo 1-chome, Shinjuku-ku. Nobody was reported hurt.

The fire was actually five blocks up the street, but this was the only location Asahi had a camera!
