[floatl]Image[/floatl]Fibre2Fashion: Kimonos making a comeback at weddings
...Kimono wholesaler Kyorasha has started tailoring western wedding dresses with old Kimono fabrics. As the younger generation is becoming interested in Kimonos little by little, this new idea is receiving positive results... The new service asks clients to bring their Kimonos and they will tailor a one and only dress for the cost of 17,000 yen...Kyorasha has been receiving an average of 12 dresses every month.

The kimono my wife wore at our wedding in Tokyo was rented for $5,000. I don't they'll use any cloth from that one to make one of those dresses.
