TVNZ: Poo flavoured lamb may be hit in Japan
The director of a New Zealand company that processes food for the Japanese market says exporters have an opportunity to boost lamb sales in Japan. Research from a Massey University doctoral graduate shows that grazing lambs on white clover gives the meat a pastoral or poo flavour. Nicola Schreurs says Japanese palates are particularly sensitive to this flavour and changing it could increase New Zealand's lamb trade in Japan, which at the moment amounts to only 2% of lamb exports...more...
