Fiji soldier urinates on Japanese woman

Postby kurohinge1 » Wed Apr 04, 2007 2:44 pm

Fiji's international carrier Air Pacific says it has apologised to a young Japanese woman after a Fijian soldier urinated on her, the Fiji Sun reported today . . . more

Possibly he misunderstood that he was supposed to be a "peace" maker, not a "piss" maker.

Air Pacific chief executive officer John Campbell confirmed the incident, saying the soldier was taken into custody on arrival of the flight at Nadi airport.

The woman has apparently accepted the apology "in a traditional Japanese manner and attaches no blame to Air Pacific", the Fiji Sun reported

What is the "traditional Japanese manner" for accepting apologies?

Sorry to be the king of non sequiturs but...

Does this remind anyone of 'Shogun' and Anjin-san's arrival to the Japanese isles?

He got a similar greeting.

I dont remember the pissing scene but I do recall seeing Shogun in a whole new and probably more authentic way upon learning the actor who played anjin san was gay.

I didnt know Japanese people accepted apologies. I thought it was less forgive and forget and more grudge, hatred, and revenge.

Who has made fun of the girl? Most of the comments are about the odd observation that an apology was accepted in "a traditional Japanese manner".

You missed the point Mulboyne. Jack has got to write a later to the Vicar of his Diocese and is just working on his prose! Has a nice ring to it doesn't it? Kind of a Canadian lambic pentameter!

Yeah you're right. I'm not doing that very well. I'm a lover not a fighter, so I'll go back to talking about girls again.

Okay, folks, I'm refocusing my target market again. No more swearing from me.

Stuff: Urinating on Japanese tourist hits Fiji tourism badly
An incident in which a Fijian soldier urinated on a Japanese woman on a plane has ended up doing "untold damage" to Fiji, the country's main daily says in a strongly worded editorial today. It was commenting after the international carrier Air Pacific published its annual report saying its Fiji-Japan route was performing poorly and was struggling. The report made no mention of the incident in March last year when a drunk Fiji soldier on a flight from Japan exposed himself and then urinated on a Japanese woman in her seat. The incident made major headlines in Japan. In its editorial today the Fiji Times said it was an "appalling incident" that was an urgent reminder to every person in this country. "This unforgivable offence has caused untold damage in Japan a market which Fiji has strived for decades to cultivate," the newspaper said...more...

Maybe Japanese women should just avoid Fiji

Tourist on rape charge to leave soon
12/02/2009 The 29-year-old Brazilian man who appeared in court this week for allegedly raping a Japanese tourist is due to fly out of the country tomorrow.

This has been confirmed by police spokesman for the western division Wame Bautolu.

Speaking to Fijilive, Bautolu said the Brazilian national appeared in the Nadi Magistrate Court yesterday, however he did not enter a plea.

He said relevant authorities will decide on what action to take before the suspect is due to fly out of the country tomorrow morning.

The Brazilian is alleged to have raped the 25-year-old woman in her room after meeting her at a Nadi resort swimming pool.

The woman reported the matter to the resort security who informed the police.

Sounds like the main problem here was one of discretion . . . as in lack of.
Never criticize anyone until you've walked several kilometres in their shoes.
Because

1. You're now several kilometres away; and

2. You've got their shoes.

Typhoon, that is so true. Before urinating on my neighbor on planes, I always smile, hold my finger up to her lips, and quietly whisper "shhhh", as if to say "let's make this our own little secret". Nobody has ever screamed or alerted the flight crew. On the other hand, that Fijian soldier clearly just whipped it out without setting the mood first. Not very discreet.

I can't believe you guys are actually into that sort of a thing! I mean peeing on a girl. Where's the merit in that? Now if it were the girl taking a whiz on you, it is a bit different. My gf will always back me in the corner for that action...

You bring up a good point. It's kind of ironic how some guys will pay for a woman to pee on us, I mean them, but if a guy does it for free on a girl she goes and gets all upset...
