7 complain of ill health after watching U.S. movie 'Babel' in Aichi, Mie theaters

NAGOYA — Seven people have complained of nausea and other health symptoms at theaters in Aichi and Mie prefectures after watching the Oscar-nominated U.S. movie "Babel," theater officials said Monday.

The sickness is believed to be linked with a scene about one hour and 20 minutes into the movie where the high school student played by Japanese actress Rinko Kikuchi dances in a club that has strobe-effect lighting. The blinking lasts about a minute.

Personally I think the strobe light effect is a cover story for somebody in the theater with a really bad case of daikon onara.

I wonder if all 7 people had an epileptic fit at the same time in the same cinema, or different cinemas. Cuz on TV the reporter was standing outside midland square cinema telling the same story, but didnt mention other cinemas...

She wins the Most Annoying Actress in the Most Pretentious Movie hands-down. Babel needed to be named Babble. That's all it was, a politically correct attempt to link different stories but bombing utterly in that regard because an annoying deaf schoolgirl hitting on her dentist or whatever he was was just bullshit.
