
Two people have been arrested in connection with their bar's alleged sale of ketamine, an anesthetic that was designated as a narcotic drug earlier this year, violating the Narcotic Control Law, the Metropolitan Police Department has said. The is the first time arrests have been made over ketamine dealing in Japan. The alleged dealers, who hail from China, were caught in possession of about 2 kilograms of ketamine with an estimated street value of 33 million yen. Liang Jingying, 46, the owner of the Gold Finger bar in Kabukicho in Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo, and the bar's manager were both arrested.
