This is slightly old news but it appears there is a restaurant in Akihabara which specializes in serving instant ramen. Called Akiba Noodle Sakura, the shop stocks a range of around 400 varieties of instant noodle which customers can order and eat on the premises. The noodles are served in a standard bowl and additional fresh toppings, like a hard boiled egg, are also available. TV progarmmes have run features on the place and the owner apparently said that he used to make his own ramen but he wasn't very good so came up with the idea of providing people with noodles that he wasn't capable of preparing. By supplying regional specialties, he says customers get the chance to eat noodles that aren't sold in their local Tokyo shops. More pictures here.
